BOLZANO WEATHER | Ötzi, the Iceman |
Nicole: Today I woke up at 6 to finish packing so we could leave Genoa. This was by far the worst day, even though we see them again it’s not for another 4 months. I have made so many memories and endless friendships with not only the Italians but the Americans also. When we got to the bus stop I began to cry because I did not want to leave. When it was time to leave everyone began crying and hugging one another. We spent most of our time today on the bus, but while on the bus we watch 2 movies about the iceman. I learned many things that I did not know already. We also got to visit a museum that was very cool to see everything. I thought it was amazing how much they have preserved over the past 5000 years. We also got to see the body that has been preserved. I think that it is very cool but I also can see it from a different point of view. I understand why they have put him on display but everyone that does whether they are famous or not gets to Rest In Peace. I feel that with him being displayed on the museum he is not resting in peace like everyone gets to. However everything that we were able to see is nothing like today. The guide explained everything in much detail to give us a better understanding. After the museum we rode the bus to the hotel, we then got to our rooms and began to get ready for dinner that was at 8 o’clock. For dinner we ate last first, then chicken and potatoes. Lastly we had dessert and it was amazing! It was vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and mixed wild berries. Today started off sad and bad but ended just fine. | |
TRENTO |
|
Council of Trent |
The Council
of Trent was
the formal Roman Catholic reply to the doctrinal challenges of the
Protestant Reformation. It served to define Catholic doctrine and made
sweeping decrees on self-reform, helping to revitalize the Roman Catholic
Church in the face of Protestant expansion.
