My
name is Tiffany, I am fifteen years old and I would like to take part in this
program because I think that it will be a wonderful experience and I have heard
how much fun it is from my friends and I would like to experience it for myself.
I would also like to be able to visit the place where my great grandmother moved
from, I think that it would truly be fun to be able to see what it is like.
In my spare time I am a member of the schools varsity soccer team, marching/concert band, track team, and I am also a member of the “Springfield Junior Rescue Squad”. I like to hang out with my friends, go to the movies, bowling, skating, and or the mall. I have two little brothers, their names are John Carl (6 years old) and David Grant (4 years old). My hobbies include scrap booking, playing soccer, working with the haunted house/with community involvement in October at the haunted house.
Most of my family lives in Wheeling West Virginia, but I live here in Springfield West Virginia. It is a small little town where everyone knows everyone, which is not always a bad thing. Some day I hope to relocate to Wheeling to be with the rest of my family though.
I think that participating in this will help me to broaden my sense of culture and help me to under stand the different ways people have of doing different things. I also think that I will be able to learn a lot from this.
My home life is like that of your average American teen, I have a Mom ( Crystal ) and a Step Dad ( David ), that may be one of the only differences in my life, the fact that I do not have a “real” father, he passed away when I was 6 years old. I have two siblings as I said before. I have a two cats and a dog.
I think that as a global citizen this will allow me to have a more open mind when it comes to matters dealing with other countries considering that I wish to pursue a career dealing with politics. I also think that it will be a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and share in some new experiences, as far as foreign countries governments are concerned.
I think that getting to learn what a teen goes through in Germany on a daily basis, with all the different foods, people, ways of transportation, and just the way that they do things in general would be an AWESOME experience!
I also would like to be a part of this trip because my fathers half of my family was originally from Sicily, Italy. I would love it if I were able to just see what life was like for my past generations, and what it the scenery would have been for them growing up as children.
The main reason I would like to go on this trip is because I would like to have fun with my friends and enjoy my time in high school!
