Hello, my name is Nick.  I live in Highview , WV .  I’m 16 years old, 5’ 11, and have brown eyes with brown hair.  I am currently in 10th grade and live in a family of four.  I have one older brother named Alex who looks somewhat like me and will graduate this spring. My father’s name is Peter and is a busy bee.  When he’s not at work then he is maintaining the family Christmas tree farm.  My mother’s name is Karen and loves to work on photo albums and stay active in her free time.

In the past I’ve been involved in the German Exchange program and have visited many towns in northern and southern Germany with my exchange partner and family which was a wonderful experience. This past summer my brother visited Italy participating in the Italian Exchange program and he said that it was unbelievable and wanted to go back a second time. This convinced me to want to participate in a once in a life time experience in Italy .

I wish to participate in this Italian Exchange because I think it would be a fantastic experience to find out the different ways of lifestyles and cultures compared with the German culture.  This will benefit me by giving myself the opportunity to earn a credit for school along with experiencing the journey in a life of another culture.

In this exchange, I would have a life long friend, an unforgettable experience, and memories for years to come.  My home life is like any other ordinary person.  I come home from school, finish homework, eat dinner, and talk to friends.

My hobbies include playing soccer, golf, swimming, driving, shopping, and talking with friends.  I like to watch football, basketball, and baseball.  I am a true sports fan.  I have one pet which is a cat.  Her name is Abigail who is 4 years old and is quite large and fluffy.

Italian is my favorite kind of food to eat because it is so delicious and healthy.  My favorite would have to be from one to three, pizza, lasagna, and then spaghetti.  My family makes a variety of Italian foods all the time.  My dad is the main cook and also the best cook in the house.  He enjoys making all kinds of food but his favorite will always be Italian.

This fall I am looking forward to hosting an Italian exchange student and have them visiting our home, school, and our east coast.  Perhaps they would enjoy American football at our high school and watching some of our soccer games as well.
