Today we walked to Madonna delle Grazie, a church built in 1400 with wonderful art work by Gaudenzio Ferrari, a Valsesian artist. He was the first one to incorporate 3D art work in frescos.

Next, we walked up to Sacro Monte, the location of a shrine in 45 stations from the announcement to resurrection. These shrines were built beacuse only few could go onto a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. In 1495 the construction of this shrine was finally finished.
